        Drumming on Siesta Beach 09/09/2009

Every Sunday there is a huge drum circle out on Siesta Beach and my friend, Dawn, took me to it.  Wow, what fun -- it was a complete adventure to have about 20 people drumming with over 200 people forming a circle around them.  All ages, all walks of life, all fun!  My Fuji camera is broken at the moment but as soon as I get it fixed I will post pics of the event!  I know where I'm going on Sunday night now!

I was lucky enough to spend a few minutes out on the beach at Clearwater the other day.  The sand was whiter than snow and softer than silk.  I played in it like a kid!  I spent most of the day today working on this website -- I know, it doesn't look like a big deal but for a complete novice like me, this is a big deal!  I'm almost ready to go live with it! Very exciting!

        Me
OMG I have always wanted to "do" a blog and I have to admit  I'm terrified...but...here goes!  My goal is to write something every day about my new life here in Florida and to introduce you to a new work of art here at Alchemy.

I have been here in Florida for three weeks now -- settling in and looking for a job.  I am loving it even with the sweltering heat and torrential daily downpours.  I realized the other day that I have become accustomed to the rain because now i just hike up my jeans,  pull off my sandals and run barefoot through the floods!  It's amazing how quickly the rain comes and goes.  Within a few minutes streets will flood and then within the same few minutes, dry completely as if   it never happened!

On the personal side of my life, my daughter, Jenna, is happily settling into her sophomore year at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota and I'm thrilled for her.

I have moved into the Village of the Arts in Bradenton, Florida and I                                                                                             can't wait to open Alchemy this October!

Thanks for reading my first post.  Please subscribe to this blog!
