Artist Residencies I Offer:
I am a Teaching Artist which means that I go into public and private schools and work along-side the classroom teacher, bringing visual arts integration into his or her classroom to enhance the subject matter. Artist residencies range from 1 week to several months at schools, community centers, at-risk facilities, senior citizen centers, hospitals, and more.
Please contact me to schedule an appointment to see my portfolio. I specialize in hand-building in clay, mixed media collage, murals, and more! I am happy to travel to your location to meet with you and your staff.
In addition to the mural and waterfall project on my Home page, I offer visual art residencies in science, math, social studies, literary skills, and student retention.
Here are a few examples of my most popular residencies (which can be combined or modified, depending on your needs).
Artist Trading Cards - promoting recycling, re-purposing, and eco-friendly awareness while enhancing the specific subject matter being taught.
Journaling - making our own paper, binding our own books and then using the journals for subject-specific learning or as a private exploratory tool.
Architecture and Ancient Civilizations - Replicating buildings, statues, and symbols through hand-building in clay.
Mask-Making - Studying ancient civilizations and replicating their masks and adornments.
Tiles - Mosaic murals, studying and creating ancient symbols, plaques and assemblages.
Collage - Exploring many techniques to create mixed-media collage while learning about color theory, design, and placement and/or a specific subject matter.
